During this week’s podcast, we get to sit down with a founder of a 501(c)3 non-profit organization, Richard Reyes, and dig deep into a part of his life he doesn’t normally share with the public – being gay. Though he has been openly gay for over 10 years, Richard doesn’t focus his message on being gay because he doesn’t let that be the only defining piece of who he is.
To this date, Richard Reyes has presented over 500 times to over 45,000 students and doesn’t let other people’s labels of him being gay get in his way of his success.
Richard has battled through discrimination, bullying, and not being accepted by the ones he loves most for much of his life and ended up not letting all those stories define who he is. Instead, he focuses his energy into teaching students in the Los Angeles area how to own their story and understand why that’s so important. During this interview, you will learn how to own your self-esteem (whether you identify with being gay or not) and choose your own definition for who/what you represent.
